- Internal Linking – I will check your internal links to make sure that search engines can easily follow them. If search engines can not make it through your navigation than the search engines can not display your site let alone rank it. Some scripts to enable fancy drop-down navigation, etc. Many of these scripts cannot be crawled by the search engines resulting in unindexed pages. Too many internal links can also present a problem as it “dilutes” the relevance of your links and prevents search engines from prioritizing your links properly. Simplifying y our link structure is a very effective way to improve search engine ranking.
- Sitemaps – Submit sitemaps to the major search engines on a regular basis. Sitemaps should be updated any time you add new pages or content, change your URLs or remove pages or content. Depending on the site, you could need to update your sitemaps on a daily basis.
- Reciprocal Links - Exchanging links with other sites is a good way of attaining additional incoming links to your site. Search Engine Optimization is very much a popularity contest and the more sites that link to your site, the better. However, you don’t want links from just any site. Sites that are relevant to your keywords or site can be much more helpful than sites that exist solely to link to other sites. Exchanging links with any and all sites that you can will not help you over the long run. Link only to sites that are related to yours and who’s content your visitors will be interested in.
- Content Creation – search Engines are hungry monsters that want to be fed more content. This one may be a no brainer, but sites with more content fair better than sites with very little content on search engines. I can help develop a site that you can add content to on a regular basis.
- Site Optimization – Every word on your site needs to be focused on two things, bringing you search engine traffic and converting to a sale, lead, sign up, etc. I can go through your site and make changes to improve your search engine ranking as well as helping your conversions.
